For chairs, executives and non-executive directors

Read the board pack you were sent. Walk in knowing what matters.

Order out of complexity.

Brief is an independent briefing tool for company directors. Upload your pack, tell us the lens you're reading it through, and receive a structured briefing — decisions you're being asked to make, a critical read of the financials, investment manager and advisor updates, compliance and regulatory matters, questions to ask, risks and red flags, what's missing from the pack, and time-sensitive items. Pack content, briefing content and your inputs are deleted from our servers within 60 minutes. Only a tamper-evident audit hash is retained.

Up to 3 documents per brief, 40 MB combined. PDF or DOCX.

Private beta — invitation only. Billing is not active. Pricing shown is the intended commercial rate post-beta. All enquiries treated with complete confidentiality.

01

Director-side

Built for the individual director reading the pack — not the company secretariat distributing it.

02

Deletion by default

Your pack, the briefing and your inputs are deleted within 60 minutes. We retain only a tamper-evident audit hash.

03

Role-aware lens

Tell us which role you're reading as — non-exec, executive, or audit/remuneration/risk committee member — and whether you chair. The briefing is filtered to what you, specifically, need to decide.

How it works

Four steps. One artefact. Nothing retained.

01

Upload your pack

PDF or DOCX. Up to three documents per brief, 40 MB combined. Scanned-image-only PDFs are rejected by design — Prospero only analyses text it can redact for personal data first.

02

Set the lens

Pick the role you're reading as — non-exec, executive, or audit/remuneration/risk committee member — and tick the chair box if you chair the board or committee. Brief tailors the briefing to that role.

03

Receive the briefing

Entity identified up front, then eight focused sections: decisions you're being asked to make, financials (critically analysed), investments, compliance and regulatory, questions to ask, risks and red flags, what's missing from the pack, and time-sensitive items. Each bullet is tagged for who owns it and points to the page or agenda item.

04

Everything is deleted

A live countdown shows the deletion deadline. After 60 minutes, your pack and briefing are gone from our servers. We keep an audit hash, not the content.

The briefing

Eight focused sections, plus a health rating.

The briefing opens with the legal entity identified from the pack and an overall health rating (green, amber or red) reflecting regulatory, litigation, compliance, minutes, outstanding-action, financial and investment signals. The eight sections below follow, ordered to match the pack's own agenda.

01

Decisions you're being asked to make

Votes, approvals and sign-offs that need your name against them, with the page reference.

02

Financials

A critical read of the management accounts and statements in the pack — key figures, variances vs budget and prior period, material movements, and inconsistencies between the numbers and the narrative.

03

Investments

Material updates from fund managers, investment advisors and portfolio reports — performance, valuation changes, liquidity, concentration and manager commentary. Always present; if the pack has none, we say so.

04

Compliance & regulatory

Regulatory, legal, audit and compliance matters surfaced from the pack. Always present — if the pack is clean, we say so explicitly.

05

Questions to ask

The questions a director in your role should put to management on the day, grounded in the pack's own figures and narrative.

06

Risks & red flags

Material movements, inconsistencies between narrative and figures, and items the pack soft-pedals.

07

What's missing from the pack

Documents referenced but not attached, gaps in evidence, prior actions without an update.

08

Time-sensitive items

Anything with a date or deadline attached, surfaced separately so nothing slips.
